Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) is a specialised way of working therapeutically with children. This unique approach is based on solid theory and is one of the most thoroughly researched theoretical models of play therapy in the world. With play being the innate, natural world of a child, this makes play essential for healthy development and it is the ideal environment in which to meet and communicate with a child who needs help.

The training ChildPlayWorks (CPW) provides in CCPT is based on humanistic theory and holds a sincere philosophical belief in a child’s innate capacity to strive towards growth and maturity. CPW believes that, given the right environment and therapeutic relationship, children will access this inherent drive and will constructively self-direct their own therapeutic process. CCPT is non-directive (child-led but adult-facilitated) and facilitates inner emotional growth and a child’s belief in themselves.
