Kia ora, This Workshop Supports Embodiment through language, non-coercion and movement. The workshop is based on the key principles of TC-TSY an evidenced-based treatment for Complex trauma and PTSD and offers beneficial learning for therapists and health professionals. The underlying principles are evidenced based and supported by ongoing research in Neuroscience, Attachment and Trauma TheoryThe skills learnt are transferable to your one-to-one therapy practice. • Interoception: an ability to identify, understand and respond to the state of the inside of your body• Choice-making and Self-agency • Language • Power sharing non-coercion• Shared authentic experience • Present moment experience. These principles foster self-agency and empowerment for trauma survivors. In attending this workshop you will experience:• To practice and explore embodied movements that are accessible in your practice as a therapist. • What happens in a trauma-sensitive yoga group (TC-TSY) and one to one sessions • How to support and what to expect if you have clients attending TC-TSY sessions• An understanding and hands-on practice using trauma-sensitive language and understanding how it supports healing • How to share power to support healing through connection with the body and reduce activation of the nervous systemTestimonial:“I found this workshop very useful in understanding how TSYoga helps the client to regain self-agency and gradually re-establish a relationship with their body again, at their own pace and volition. …invitational language reminded me of how important this is in therapy where often traumatised clients can default to compliance in the context of the power differential in the therapy relationship. The space for choice-making gives the opportunity for the client to take ownership of themselves” 20-hour workshop attendee (Senior Psychotherapist)."
