Trauma Model Therapy (TMT) recognises that victim-survivors of childhood trauma, abuse and neglect often meet criteria for several disorders, including dissociative disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, non-suicidal self-injury, and suicidal ideation. These comorbidities can be conceptualized as elements of a single diagnosis, ICD-11 Complex PTSD.
Naomi and Colin approach working with victim-survivor clients from a non-medicalised approach that recognises trauma related symptoms, negative self-beliefs, internal and external struggles are survival responses, or adaptations to overwhelming experiences. TMT approaches therapy from a holistic perspective, addressing the underlying causes of the client’s problems.
