This new book is about performance, age, brokenness, vulnerability and ‘the Call.’
In one respect autobiographical, it describes the journey of a performer with national and international recognition. As an academic with several degrees her work, using a hermeneutical phenomenological-investigative approach, is supported theoretically. This supports a story about how and why, despite age, injury and pain, ‘flinging the soul’ is a worthy alternative to giving up.
A spiritual dimension gives scope to explore ‘the Call.’
Whilst growing old, pain, vulnerability and the Call are not unique to the author we all know these. These are dimensions of living that are universal, giving the book universal relevance.
A book to inspire hope, offering a vision as to how life with age, pain, vulnerability, can be lived, not just satisfactorily, but abundantly: vividly.
A book offering alternative(s). Of being an artiste, aging, knowing loss and despair yet drawn by the Call to not give up.
